Here's how it works: To propel the PlasmaCar, you rotate the steering wheel continuously from left to right. It also works in reverse. To stop your PlasmaCar, just cease rotating the steering wheel and, when the car slows, put your feet on the ground to bring it to a full stop-easy as pie. Think of it as a Segway for kids. This plasmacar REALLY takes a beating. My daughter has knocked it over (not with her on it, but during a tantrum), and she has used it hundreds of times. She has left it outside in the yard, and has pushed it down an incline (after which, it toppled), and this thing still looks practically brand new! It still runs great to!

When my sister got my son this toy, I thought there was no way it could really be safe. But I was wrong! This toy never flips, glide's easily, and although the speed it goes at is fast to my son, it's not so fast that it's dangerous. I make him wear a helmet, but he's never really needed it.
